Northeast At-Sea Monitors

  Position Title: Northeast At-Sea Monitors 

Agency/Location: A.I.S., Inc. Positions located in ports from Maine to Rhode Island. 

Responsibilities: Monitors will collect scientific, management, compliance, and other data at sea through interviews of vessel captains and crew, observations of fishing operations, and measurements of selected portions of the catch as directed by the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. They will be deployed on vessels targeting groundfish species. Vessels range from 30’ to 100’ and trips are 1 to 14 days long. Two-week, paid training session held in Falmouth, MA starting 8/5/14. 

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree with a major in the natural sciences. 30 semester hours in the biological sciences and one undergraduate course in math or statistics. Experience with data entry on computers. Sea experience a plus. 

Compensation: Full time positions available. Pay starting at $15.00 per hour and full benefits package for full time employees.
