As managing editor of Maine
Policy Review, Dr. Acheson manages and coordinates all aspects
of journal content and production, including article solicitation and
review, verification of sources, and communication with reviewers, authors,
copy-editors, designers, press, and MCSC staff. Dr. Acheson also initiates
and evaluates programs addressing health, mental health, substance abuse,
and social services issues. Recent projects include a children's behavioral
health survey (field coordinator); poverty in Maine (PI); substance abuse
treatment needs assessment (co-director); Maine rural substance abuse
partnership (partnership coordinator).
