Fields of Interest
- Sustainable Development Policy
Dr. Fried's research interest focuses on
sustainable development issues, more specifically the relationships between
sustainable development, social sciences (sociology, geography, history,
language and culture) and policy-making in international cooperation.
Emphasis is placed on cooperation between local authorities in institution
building and cultural exchanges, especially focusing on the Franco-American
characteristics of Maine and the relationships with France. Dr. Fried also
teaches courses at UMaine in International Affairs and Resource Economics,
respectively on the European Institutions and sustainable co-development.
