Dr. Lindenfeld’s research focuses on media studies and cultural studies.  She is particularly interested in the relationship between multiculturalism, media literacy, civic engagement, and education.  Her current research project is an examination of the discourses and policies of food in the United States and their relationship to the proliferation of “food films” from the early 1990s to the present.  Dr. Lindenfeld also directs a Title III U.S. Department of Education Professional Development grant, Project Opportunity, that trains Teachers and Teaching Personnel who work with English Language Learners in public schools throughout Maine .
