COPC
Documentary Project
This
component of the Community Outreach Partnership Center
brings together an interdisciplinary team of faculty and students to
document the voices, images, words and stories of our community -
university partnership with
Bangor. The immediate goal is to
document the life of each project as it begins, unfolds, and is
sustained with an emphasis on better understanding how the projects
result in greater community inclusion, opportunities for youth
empowerment, and affordable housing.
The larger purpose is to add richness and depth to the
community’s understanding of itself as well as to the processes and
potential of community - university partnerships as a vehicle for
change.

The
Honors College
is strongly committed to building the next generation of urban scholars
through the establishment of an honors tutorial focused on civic
leadership and community engagement.
Through readings, shared dialogue, guest presentations,
writing assignments and service learning, the
course will engage students in developing civic leadership skills
through reflection, analysis and direct involvement in the community.
