in a June 5, 2007 press conference regarding
an analysis to produce bio-based fabrics from Maine grown potatoes. The event was covered
locally by Bangor
Daily News, Portland
Press Herald, and WLBZ2/WCSH6
and included two WBZ Boston radio
interviews: Don Flannery, Executive Director of the Maine Potato
Board, and Kate Dickerson, MSCPC. The Boston
Herald article was picked up by AP news sources across the
country including Discovery Channel, MSNBC, CBS News, Newsday,
Washington Post, Forbes, FOX News. News articles appeared in
Virginia, Arizona, Wyoming, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico,
Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska -- as well as Australia.

February, some
of Maine's leading experts on environmental policy participated in a
conference on the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
RGGI aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity
sector by ten percent below 2009 levels by 2019.
