Welcome to Umaine's Biomedical Engineering and Advanced Robotics Laboratory website (BEAR Lab for short).

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Mohsen Shahinpoor, the BEAR Lab is a unique environment for graduate and undergraduate education and to conduct research on robotic and artificial devices for biomedical applications.

This Lab is part of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Maine. We are located in Crosby Hall on the beautiful UMaine campus in Orono.
