Algae Oil Extraction

 

 

Overview

The Algae Oil Extraction capstone group is working to develop a system to extract oil from Chlorella Algae. The development of this system includes testing various extraction methods, selecting the most desirable method, and then building a machine or machines to carry out this process. This project will provide significant research and design experience for the students in the group. It will also provide a foundation for further work on algal oil in the UMaine Mechanical Engineering department.
