About Our Group:
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers UMaine Chapter is committed to promoting the education and advancement of its members in the field of mechanical engineering. To pursue this goal we hold competitions and have weekly meetings.
Each December, we elect new officers to run the local chapter. In addition to the four chair positions, there are many subchair positions that need to be filled, including programs, fundraising, webmaster, and recruitment. As always our chapter of ASME is involved in many projects. Our current projects include the ongoing ASME design challenge and the coaster car, as well as the annual cardboard canoe race and bottle launch. In addition, we are looking for guest speakers, especially alumni who were active in ASME when at UMaine. Alumni, please follow the “Alumni Registration” link to the left, and let us know where you are now.
