Wes Jordan Complex

Text Only Version

Mark Letendre: Wes Jordan Protégé

" It's a wonderful tribute to Wes that we are here dedicating the Wes Jordan Athletic Training Complex. It was four years ago that a promise was made and today a promise is kept.

Robert Cobb, Dean; College of Education & Human Development

" The responsibilities of today's athletic trainers arre just enormous. They do deal with injuries that are potentially life threatening, certainly potentially career ending on a regular basis and the amount of training and preparation and
education that is required so that they can feel confident when they're confronted with those urgent situations, is a pretty serious undertaking. We will be expanding the faculty further. We are admitting some outstanding students to this program
and we just see a very, very healthy future for athletic training education at this campus.

Robert Kennedy; UMaine President,

" To me, I was coming to UMaine sort of late in Wes's life and his career here and the hundreds if not thousands of people who's lives he has touched are really legendary. When I came in, Wes was really an icon in the state of Maine and he remains
so and will always remain so. He touched generations of young people, mostly through the work he did here at UMaine, and he made a tremendous difference in so many lives and on so many levels."

Ashley Stambolis, Athletic Training Education Student

" Having such a nice facility will help the athletic training program in so many ways. It will allow more hands-on learning and it will give students a sense of pride as we continue to grow as a program. I know we all look forward to spending
many long hours downstairs striving to perfect our skills."
