Where education fuels dreams and where creativity will intersect with capitalism. Most of all its a place where radicals and revolutionaries- some would say kooks and crazies, will gather to solve the world's problems. Innovation Engineering is the beginning of a new science- a new area of study, to take the world of what we learn and learn how to apply it."

"Our state, our country, our planet is in need of revolutionaries. We need bold and brave thinkers. From global warming to dependece on oil, diabetes, obesity to our falling to 16th in the world in our levels of new scientists and engineers. The purpose of the University of Maine Student Innovation Center, in my opinion, is to give ideas, insight and inspiration to support these revolutionaries to invent meaningful solutions to the challenges before us. Or said another way, to create, sell and ship wicked good ideas."
