| "I
enjoyed this camp very much. I learned a lot
and felt that I made new friends. The camp was well
run and I felt it was set at a good pace. The food was
good and the MaineBound programs were fun!" - Madison

Come
learn, play, have fun, and engage in Creative Design at CAD Camp!
Try new challenges at your own pace! Learn about computer-aided
design (CAD) by designing something uniquely "you!"
CAD Camp lets you mix your interest in design and computers with
the fun of making new friends.
Campers
arrive Sunday afternoon, and are met by faculty and MaineBound
staff members to settle in. Friendly and fun MaineBound staff
members live with the campers. Girls and guys are housed in separate
wings of the dormitory. Campers choose their meals from the variety
offered at The MarketPlace in the Memorial Union. Days are split
into CAD instruction and recreation.
Campers
experience some of the latest in CAD design software for 3D modeling.
The computer classroom in Boardman Hall is air-conditioned and
has modern computers and comfortable seating. Campers get lots
of individual help from our team of CAD faculty professionals.
Campers have a great time creating interesting computer models
and exchanging ideas with their new CAD Camp friends! They leave
with new computer skills and career training – and they
have so much fun along the way they’ll want to learn more!
Campers
head into the wilds of the University Forest for the ropes courses,
to the MaineBound Adventure Center for some climbing wall experience,
and to the Stillwater River for canoeing. The staff members at
the MaineBound Adventure Center provide campers with loads of
challenging, non-competitive activities. There is no pressure
to do the ‘high wire’ act for those not up for that
rush of adrenaline. MaineBound provides a fun, relaxed atmosphere
to experience teamwork, trust and lots of interesting activities.
Experienced
faculty members from the Mechanical Engineering Technology program
provide camp CAD instruction. Staff members of the UM Campus Recreation
MaineBound Adventure Center serve as counselors.
