This image depicts our first design that we came up with. Almost immediately we realized that while it was effective, it had many flaws that made it unpractical. Problems: · Too heavy (107 lbs) · Too expensive (estimated manufacturing cost of $2043) · Too complex Solutions Implemented In New Design: · Number of fabricated parts cut from 16 to 3 · Used less expensive steel and purchased by volume · Utilized more standard parts, in particular the juicer |
