SELECTION PROCESS
A Selection Committee will consider all completed applications received by
the deadline. The entire cost of the application fee ($2,500) will be
absorbed by the subsidy. The Committee will award the available subsidy to
candidates based on the following criteria:
- Quality and breadth of the candidate’s training, experience and
continuing involvement in professional
development.
- Quality of the candidate’s written statements.
- Evidence of adequate support from the candidate’s administrators.
- Diversity and equity. To some extent, possible grants will be awarded
with regional diversity as a
consideration. It is unlikely that more than one award will be made to
teachers in the same school
system in the same year.
- The NBPTS requires that priority be given to candidates who are in a high
