The Newman Center (also known as Our Lady of Wisdom Parish) is the gathering place for the Catholic community at the University of Maine, Orono.
As a parish, we welcome all members of the University community: staff, faculty, administrators and students, as well as their families. As a campus ministry center, we have a special ministry to University students. Students meet for liturgy, retreats, outreach to the needy, social events, religious development, sacrament preparation and other activities.
Liturgy is Sundays at 10AM and 6:15PM when the University is in session. Each semester there is Reconciliation Service, but you may also make an appointment for private reception of that sacrament.
Campus ministers are Fr. Bill Labbe and Casey Murphy.
