Weekly Update (3/21/06)

Welcome Back from Spring Break!

Here's what is happening at the Newman Center (Catholic Campus Ministry) this week:

Daily Mass during Lent:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6:30pm.

Sacrament of Reconciliation:  Friday at 5pm.

Tuesday:  FAITH IN FOCUS, Graduate Student Prayer and Discussion Group. Every Tuesday, in the Memorial Union Chapel, 3rd Floor. 12:15-1pm, lunch together in Union afterwards.

Wednesday:  Newman Center Student Supper @ 6pm (always homemade, always free, always good company).  Lenten Film Series presents Dead Man Walking, 7:15pm immediately following supper in the Newman Center Lounge.  Both events are FREE!

Thursday:  Campus Ministers (InterVarsity and Newman Center) Pray for You - if you have a prayer request, send it to Casey Murphy, and we will pray for you between 9:30 and 10:30am.

Friday:  Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered at 5pm at the Newman Center.

Saturday:  "God is Love (Deus Caritas Est) - An Evening for Couples."  In his recent letter to the Church, Pope Benedict discusses the Christian understanding of love.  Throughout the evening we will consider the role love plays in our daily lives and how we are called to respond to God's love in our relationships and greater community.   - 7pm at the Newman Center - please RSVP to Casey Murphy if you are attending.  Free and open to the public. 

Sunday: Mass is at 10am and at 6:15pm (Student Mass)

The Newman Center is open daily from 8am to 4:30pm and on evenings when events are scheduled.  Feel free to stop by, to pray, to study (high speed access available), or to meet with campus ministers Fr.
