Nontraditional Students Association Meeting Minutes
September 19, 2007
10AM Walker Room, Memorial Union

Present
Kathleen O’Connell, President; Barbara Smith, Staff Advisor; Lisa Chapman

1. Means of Collecting FAQs From Nontraditional Students
We came up with some questions to get us started. Please think back to any questions you had or continue to have and send them along to me. Barbara has agreed to put our top 10 on the CNTSP Web site.
2. Cost of Locker Rentals
Several of us expressed concern about the cost of lockers through the Commuter Lounge, having the general feeling that lockers should be provided free of charge.
Lockers are not provided by the university, but by several departments. The library, which has the budget to do so, has lockers that it offers free-of-charge on a first come, first serve basis. The lockers in the Union are part of the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Programs (CNTSP), which has no budget, but does have to cover the cost of providing and maintaining the lockers. The lockers in the Commuter Lounge cost $25 per semester, with $5 of that being a key deposit. If you return the key, you get the $5 back. At this time, it isn’t possible for the CNTSP to offer lockers for free. The NSA may, at some point, be able to subsidize the cost of lockers for students. This is an issue we will keep open and continue to work on.
3. Non-Traditional Students Week
Out of time, carried over to next week

(All nontraditional students are members of the NSA. In order to receive notice of events and copies of minutes, students must provide their e-mail address to the NSA. You are receiving this e-mail because you provided us with your e-mail address. If you no longer wish to receive mailings from the NSA, please reply to me, Kathleen OConnell on FirstClass and I will remove your name from our list.)
