Lancaster Diary

Hey Everyone!

Things here have been pretty laid back lately. We had a few birthdays on the Hall, Jane's (from North Carolina) on Wednesday, Laura's on Thursday and Caitlin on Monday. There was much frivolity of which Erica and I participated in only a slight amount, joining everyone for a few drinks on the town. For Laura's birthday we made cupcakes a-la my Maine roomate's boyfriend Dave Scott! You can see a picture of them here. Erica and I claim that they are the most Environmentally Friendly cupcakes as there is no paper wrappers and very little clean up mess ;) Instead of wrappers, one uses Ice Cream cones! A delicious Treat.

Erica makes environmentally friendly cupcakes for Laura's birthdayAlso, we have been working on a paper we have due for our Physical Oceanography class. The paper was based on the salinity, climate, and density of the Mediterranean and Black Sea areas, as well as the formation of Sapropels in that region. I had a lot of fun writing it and I feel like I am learning a lot this semester which I am VERY happy about (needless to say I'm sure Mark is happy about that too!).

Also, we have been making plans for spring break. I'll let Erica talk about her plans in her next entry, however my plans include a night in Frankfurt, then a week in Japan (yes JAPAN!!!!! I can't wait!!!) then back to Frankfurt for 2 nights, then 2 nights in Sweeden, a night in Glasgow, and then back home. Also, I am going to a Manic Street Preacher's concert in Liverpool and might join Erica and Susan in Spain and Greece (depending on how much money I have ). I am very excited for it all.

Check back soon for Erica's plans and my entry for the trip to London I am taking in a few weeks!

Jen
