Ecology and Environmental Sciences

The Capstone Course in the EES Program is designed so that Seniors from the various concentrations in the program come together to develop an in-depth policy project of interest to them.  The course syllabus outlines how this process works for the students.

Fall 2006 Capstone Final Projects:

EES 489 Students Fall 2006

This Team of Brian Fancher, Ben Davison, Elizabeth Dziezyk, Stephen Yost, Philip Turner, Chris Mango, and Nick Richard prepared a report on the Redington Wind Farm.

EES 489 Students Fall 2006

Another Team of John Holbrook, Erica Davis, Lynn Wolfe, Scott O'Connor, and Adam Perron completed its report on A Responsible Septic Ordinance for East Pond.

In the fall of 2005, two different  teams worked all semester on projects. 

EES 489 Capstone Project--Wind Power Team

The Wind Power project team's report is entitled Overcoming Obstacles to Wind Power Development in Maine.

EES 489 Capstone Project -- Wetlands Team

The wetlands team report is entitled After Hurricane Katrina:  The relationship between wetland depletion and the intensity of hurricane destruction.
