Chinese New Year in LiverpoolHey everyone! This past weekend was, as a lot of you probably know, Chinese New year. There is a large Asian culture in Liverpool as well as a thriving Chinatown. Donnah and I took Nicola and Olivia to participate. To celebrate, there are amusement park rides, vendors selling nick knacks, parades, and crackers. I took Olivia on one of the rides but ended up having to cling to her for dear life because the bar was rather loose and I didn't want her falling out!!! Nicola especially liked the firecrackers and went around saying "boom" and "pop" with her finger stuck out in the shape of a gun all day. We then took the girls to eat at Bella Italia (a restaurant similar to the Olive Garden minus the amazing salad and bread sticks). A good day was had by all. Here you can see the pictures I helped Nicola take of the Chinese New Year.

Classes are continually going well. Next week starts a few new modules (as some classes here are only 5 weeks long). I am picking up Probability, and The Environmental Effects of Soil and Water Pollution. Physical Oceanography ended this week.)

Chinese New Year in LiverpoolThe Kyoto Protocol has all over the news over here as I'm sure you have all heard of it there. If I am not mistaken, there was a march in London last Saturday protesting the U.S's refusal to sign the act. While there are many different opinions dealing with the Kyoto Protocol and other environmental issues, I am just glad that they are getting thrown out into the media so that people can ponder in their own minds how they would like to solve problems, possibly motivating voters to show up on voting day! I am looking forward to visiting Kyoto on my trip to Japan! Any questions/comments? Contact me on FC! Next weekend I am headed to London so check back to see pictures from there!
