Ecology and Environmental Sciences

Welcome

Mark Anderson, Undergraduate Coordinator, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, The University of Maine

Mark W. Anderson, Undergraduate Coordinator

Welcome to the Ecology and Environmental Sciences web-site. We are a group of 25 faculty and nearly 100 students working to understand more fully the workings of the natural world and how human beings relate to it.

The Ecology and Environmental Sciences degree is the University of Maine's most successful interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program. Faculty from five different academic departments, covering biological, physical, and social sciences, work together to offer a broad educational experience for our students. Since these faculty have active research programs, students not only get access to the most up-to-date information, but also get employment opportunities in their fields of study during the academic year and the summer months.

I urge you to explore our program as it is reflected in the home page. If you are concerned about the environment and want to learn more, we may be the place for you.

If you have questions or would like more information, send me an email message ( mark.anderson  @umit.maine.edu), give me a call (207-581-3198), or send me an old-fashioned letter (Mark W. Anderson, 5782 Winslow Hall, University of Maine, Orono, ME 04469-5782).  You can also access my personal page by clicking here.

Visiting UMaine?  Here is the map of the campus.

Faculty at UMaine are active in developing innovation learning outcomes assessment strategies.  To see how these play a role in the EES program, take a look at our assessment program page.
