RN Options
The University of Maine
School of Nursing RN Studies Program enables registered nurses to
complete requirements to obtain a Bachelor of Sciences with a
major in Nursing.
The length of time necessary to complete a
Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing would depend on the
number of transfer hours a student has completed and how many
hours are planned for each semester. From the curriculum sheet
below, you should be able to tell which of the courses you may
already have completed.
Transfer credit for courses completed at an
accredited college is evaluated at the time of admission. RN
students may attend on a full or a part-time basis. RN's who have
graduated from an NLN accredited program (diploma or associate
degree) within the last ten years may receive up to 30 hours of
credit for completed nursing courses. C.L.E.P. exams are also
available in many of the introductory courses.
Completion of the BSN program for registered
nurses may be unique to each individual, therefore, we strongly
recommend that all RN applicants arrange a personal conference.
This will enable us to discuss the program, look over your
previous course work, look at the courses left for completion and
to develop a flexible time frame for you to complete the program.
