ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

will be received until 1pm, Tuesday July 15th, 2008, ( addendum 2 bid opening July 22nd, 2008 at noon )at which time and place the Bids will be opened and read aloud.

 

A pre-bid meeting will be held in the ground floor of Stodder Hall, University of Maine, on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 1pm.  Copies of plans and specifications will not be available at the pre-bid meeting.  Acquiring or reviewing plans and specifications prior to the meeting is advised.

 

Proposals must be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond for 5% of the Proposal (checks will not be accepted).  The University reserves the right to waive all formalities and reject any or all proposals or to accept any proposals.

 

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond to cover the execution of the Contract which shall be in conformity with the form of Bonds contained in Sections 00 61 13.13 and 00 61 13.16, respectively, of the Specifications and shall be for the Contract amount.

 

Description of Project:  The Work includes renovation of the ground floor of Stodder Hall with removal of the kitchen, dining facilities, store and offices.  Completed spaces will be office, meeting and study areas for the Dean's office of Graduate Studies.  Also, included in the renovation are the addition of toilet rooms and renovation of existing toilet rooms, the renovation of the mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems and structural upgrades in the areas of work. Work will begin on or around Wednesday, July 23, 2008 and will be substantially complete by Monday, January 5, 2009.
