Immunizations

Send or fax a copy of your immunization records to Cutler Health Center as soon as possible; you may also bring them with you to orientation, but we recommend that you either send or fax them before you come. You cannot begin classes without them! Maine state law requires that all full-time, and degree-seeking part-time, university students born after 1956 show proof of adequate immunization against measles (rubeola), mumps, rubella, diphtheria and tetanus. Proof of immunization can be dropped off at orientation, mailed or faxed to Cutler Health. They may also be dropped off during Fall Welcome Weekend at the Community Welcome Fair. Course registration cannot be completed until Cutler Health Center has verified proof of immunization. For more information visit: www.umecut.maine.edu or call 207-581-4005, fax 207-581-3997. Mailing address: 5721 Cutler Health Center, The University of Maine, Orono, ME 04469-5721.

Your test results are used by your college/school to place you in the appropriate course according to your strengths and skills. To take it, please go to www.math.umaine.edu. Click on the link "Math Placement Exam." You will be asked to login your ID number and Password; your ID number is your Social Security Number (i.e. 001234567; no dashes).  If you have already logged on to Web DSIS use the password that you used with Web DSIS.  (Web DSIS is the site where you check on financial aid and/or your schedule. FirstClass Account

Do not forget to activate your University of Maine FirstClass email account! All students accepted to UMaine are assigned an email account. FirstClass is the official email system on campus and UMaine offices and departments use email to send important information to students. Most instructors use FirstClass to communicate with their students as well. To activate your FirstClass account, you will need to go to this Web address, www.umaine.edu/firstclass. Once there, enter your student identification number and your account activation key (provided in your acceptance letter), then follow the instructions to create your account. We recommend that you activate your FirstClass account as soon as possible to receive important news relating to financial aid, registration and other student services. If you have any questions about activating your account, please phone the IT Help Center at 207-581-2506.
