Peer
Education Program

A service of
the UMaine
Counseling Center
The
University of Maine's Peer Education Program is a group of
students who are interested in making a difference on
campus, helping others, learning more about issues that
affect students and having fun. We promote acceptance of
diversity, encouragement of safer sex practices, stress-free
lifestyles, good communication skills within relationships,
healthy body images, and happy, safe and fun college
experiences for all. Our motto is: "Be happy. Be healthy. Be
you."
Peer Educators present workshops to residence halls,
classes, conferences, fraternities and sororities, and area
schools. The workshops are fun ways to learn important
information that might not be taught elsewhere.
We are more than willing to assist you with research
projects, finding information to help a friend, help you
learn more about topics that interest you or simply provide
you with free condoms and pamphlets.
Just as the Peer Education Program
is a resource for you, so is this Web site. Enjoy!
