Members of our group are regularly involved in co-organizing research conferences that bring together researchers in physics education and researchers across STEM education.
June 2012: Transforming Research in Undergraduate STEM Education (TRUSE)
The Transforming Research in Undergraduate STEM Education (TRUSE) conference will highlight advances in research in undergraduate chemistry, mathematics and physics education, both within and across these disciplines, and seek to develop synergies between the disciplines. TRUSE will take place at the University of St. Thomas from June 3 – June 7, 2012.
This conference will bring together researchers in undergraduate mathematics, physics, and chemistry education to transform and integrate research across disciplines by supporting and providing an environment to collaborative projects and proposals, and .

Integrating Science and Mathematics Education Research into Teaching V
Held in even numbered years, starting 2002. Of interest to teachers and researchers with participants from science and mathematics education research.

The following themes are the foci of these conferences:
- Recent findings from science and mathematics education research
- Using discipline-based education research in middle, secondary, and post-secondary science and mathematics classrooms
- Research supported strategies to increase participation and learning in science and mathematics, particularly among students from under-represented groups
- Strategies for improving student learning using technology in the teaching of science and mathematics
- Building effective partnerships to implement research-guided practices in the classroom
Foundations and Frontiers of Physics Education Research

Foundations and Frontiers of Physics Education Research is a new conference venue for specialists who are active researchers in the field of physics education. This intensive week-long residential meeting provides a forum for examining and articulating the current state of the field, exploring future directions, and discussing ways to pursue the most promising avenues for future research.
The conference features a series of plenary lectures given by established and emerging leaders in PER. Each will address the theme of Foundations and Frontiers by synthesizing major accomplishments in the field and/or speculating on the directions they consider especially important and promising. Afternoons will be devoted to unscheduled time for informal discussions. Evening sessions will include working groups on subjects of community-wide interest, topical groups for specific research issues, and a contributed poster session. The goal of the conference is to foster the type of direct and intense discussion possible in a small residential meeting of specialists.

We regularly attend the national meetings of the American Association of Physics Teachers, the International Conference of the Learning Sciences, and the Gordon Conferences on Physics Education. Please contact us for more information about our participation in these meetings.
