MASTER CAMPUS CALENDAR

UMaine student Karen Loennecker takes a close look at the golden leaves of a maple on campus during an in-field exam for LHC221 &endash; Woody Landscape Plants I, taught by Reeser Manley, assistant professor of horticulture, biosystems science and engineering. On this exam day, Loennecker and the other students in the class had to identify 25 different trees by the morphology of their buds, stems and leaves. When not in the field doing identifications, the students are in the laboratory studying plant cuttings. They also spend time studying the landscape use and cultural requirements of woody plants.
