Building
Call Box Though UMaine is considered a safe
campus, the campus community is provided
with rapid access to emergency services via panic buttons mounted
on the exterior of some dormitory buildings.

Electronic Alarm Systems
A sophisticated computer-based electronic monitoring
system, located at the Department of Public Safety building,
monitors a comprehensive network of panic, environmental, intrusion,
robbery, and fire alarms.
The
Department of Public Safety has had significant input into the
design of new
and renovated campus facilities as those designs relate to physical
and electronic security systems.
