MicroFridge® Property Management is committed to making the on-campus living experience a pleasant and safe one. As part of this effort, we have arranged to have MicroFridges® available to UMaine students. This is a great combination appliance that meets our current electrical specifications.** MicroFridge® offers a combination appliance outfitted with a 700 watt microwave oven, a freezer and refrigerator unit. The appliance required only one electrical outlet, freeing up additional outlets! Obtaining a MicroFridge® Be sure to coordinate refrigerators and MicroFridges® with your roommate. Contact your roommate before making rental arrangements to avoid duplication. For new students, roommate information is provided during Summer Orientation. RENT: Units can be rented for $189.95/academic year through University Electronics, an independent company. Contact University Electronics directly to rent a MicroFridge®. PURCHASE: You may purchase a MicroFridge® at the University Bookstore. For safety reasons, only one MicroFridge® is permitted in each room.		Alternative Fridge If you choose not to rent a MicroFridge® you may bring a refrigerator; however, microwaves are not allowed for safety reasons. Common areas in each dormitory offer access to a microwave oven. Only one refrigerator is allowed per room. Refrigerators may be up to 4 cubic feet in size and must carry an Energy Star logo. Apartments in Patch and DTAV are equipped with refrigerators. Additional refrigerators cannot be put in these suites for safety reasons.
		Conserve energy! Turn off lights and unplug or turn off power strips to appliances that use “stand-by” power when not in use.
