Building Heat Controls
Ongoing installation of heating controls in residence halls enable students to control the heat from 55-72 degrees in individual rooms, prevent over heating and the need to adjust room temperature by opening a window! A computer override allows temperatures to be uniformly reduced during break periods.

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
The conversion of light bulbs in residence halls from standard incandescent bulbs to 14-watt compact fluorescents, and the installation of motion-activated switches in common areas has producing significant energy savings.

Low Flow Showerheads
The installation of low- flow and/or reduction of shower fixtures in residence halls is an on-going process. This reduces water uses by 30,000 gallons of water per building per day!
