Safety Training
Crime prevention, safety and security programs are presented in each residence
hall throughout the year.
Resident Assistants initiate the
programs by contacting Public Safety. An officer assigned to
the residence hall that requests the program
generally conducts the program.
In addition to the lecture and
question-and-answer aspect of the programs, videos
are often used to supplement presentations.

Rape Awareness, Education, and Prevention
Sexual
assault programs at the University of Maine are comprehensive,
but not mandatory. Many sexual assault programs are sponsored
throughout the academic year by various organizations on campus.
Public Safety conducts rape awareness and personal safety programs
throughout the year that include the law of the State of Maine
on rape and
unlawful sexual contact.
