Bio: Dr. Lambert received
his B.S. (1971) from the University of Pittsburg. He received his
M.S. (1973) and Ph.D. (1979) degrees from Penn State . He joined
the faculty in 1986 and is an Associate Professor of Plant
Pathology.
Current Research:
Management of late blight of potato
(Phytophthora infestans) - cultural and chemical control, population
dynamics, pathogen fitness characteristics, and host resistance.
Effects of soil and pesticide management strategies on soil-borne
and foliar diseases of potato.
Effects of irrigation on potato diseases. Ecology and control of
tuber rots caused by Phytophthora erythroseptica (pink rot disease)
and Pythium (leak).
Biology and management of lowbush blueberry diseases (Monilinia,
Septoria; Phomopsis)
