Bio: Dr. Hutton received his B.S. (1979) and M.S. (1983) from Penn  State.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire in 1988.  He joined the faculty in 2001 and is an Extension Vegetable Specialist and Assistant Professor of Vegetable Crops.

Current Research:

To evaluate environmental adaptability and horticultural adaptability of commercially important vegetable species grown in Maine utilizing organic and conventional production practices.

To evaluate other crop management strategies such as intercropping, living mulches, and sequential cropping for improved yields, quality, and reduced agrochemical inputs.

To evaluate and develop improved management startegies for hoop house crop production.
