The University of Maine is a community where students, staff, faculty, and guests interact, and where individuals treat each other with dignity and respect. Unlawful acts of sexual assault, and the coercion (force) and intimidation that they represent, are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The University believes that education is critical to reducing incidences of sexual assault and has a strong ongoing program focusing on sexual assault prevention and awareness.
