In less than a year, UMaine's $25 million Student Recreation and Fitness
Center has become a community hub for the campus as well as for the
surrounding towns.
Below is a video timeline of the center's construction, with the May
2008 video offering the most detailed look yet at one of the most
impressive new facilities on campus.
Ours will be one of the first college recreation centers to apply for
the Silver level of LEED certification by the
U.S. Green Building
Council. LEED Certification distinguishes building projects that
have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by meeting the highest
performance standards.
Memberships are on sale through
Campus Recreation.
