Retiree Homecoming Fair
June 3, 2008

This year's Retiree Homecoming was fun for all involved. The Wells Conference Center proved to be the perfect venue for the fair. Harold "Brownie" Brown, Chair of the President’s Council of Retired Employees, welcomed everyone to what has become a much anticipated annual event—a time to see friends and coworkers and to get an update from President Kennedy on how things are going at UMaine. |
| Homecoming was especially memorable for Katherine Musgrave, who was this year's annual Barbara Hikel Award recipient. This award is given in memory of University of Maine retiree Barbara Hikel, in recognition of her long, devoted, and exemplary volunteer service to the University after retirement. In 1985, Katherine retired from the University of Maine's Food Science and Nutrition department, and was awarded Emerita status. She has continued to serve UMaine in numerous ways since her retirement. Congratulations, Katherine! | ![]() |

Professor Emeritus Hal Borns entertained and informed us with his presentation, "Maine's Ice Age Trail". We received many positive comments about his presentation, and we sincerely thank him for spending the day with us. After a lovely lunch in the spacious Wells Conference Center, we ended the day with the drawing of the door prize winners. A special thanks to the University Bookstore and the University of Maine Foundation for the door prizes. Please mark your calendars for the 2009 Retiree Homecoming to be held on June 2 at the Wells Conference Center. |
