General Information:

Resident Assistants fill an important role in the establishment of a safe, involved, inclusive, and scholarly community at the University of Maine.  The RAs most important role is to facilitate the development of community within the floor and throughout hall.   A strong RA invests significant time in addressing the needs of their community.  The RA position is a partnership with other campus resources to provide services and support to students while simultaneously providing leadership opportunities for individual students.  

Eligibility

  • 2.50 GPA for current semester
  • 2.50 GPA cumulative
  • Carrying a minimum of 12 credits every semester
  • In good standing with the Office of Community Standards Rights and Responsibilities
  • Completion of a background waiver.
  • Must have lived in a residence hall (or similar experience) for two semesters.
  • Must be eligible to live in a University of Maine residence hall.
  • Completion of application process
  • Attendance at information sessions and interviews

The application process for the Fall Semester of 2008 has already been completed.  Information for the January 2009 openings will be available in the fall semester of 2008.
