Information about Calling Residence Halls
During the academic year, contact the RA on duty by reading the
duty signs in each Residence Hall. You can call the number above
during office hours which are 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, in nearly all
halls and villages.
"Limited Access" residence halls
are those halls which will close for the semester break and
spring break.
For the 2009 - 2010 all limited access halls will be closed for
the following dates:
Semester break: Friday, December 18, 2009
to Sunday, January 10, 2010, and
Spring Break: Friday, February 26, 2009 until Sunday,
March 14, 2010
"Continuous Housing" residence halls remain open during
all academic-year university breaks.
To contact staff in the residence halls, please note the
following. There is a difference in "daytime, business" hours and
"evening" hours.
Daytime/Business Hours
The Residence Life Office in Memorial Union is open 8:30 am to
5:00 pm, Monday through Friday throughout the year except for
certain holidays and university breaks. Anticipated close dates
are:
Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2009 (Thanksgiving
Break)
Friday, December 25, 2009 (Christmas Day)
Friday, January 1, 2010 (New Years Day)
Monday, January 18, 2010 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
Evening Hours
There is a duty RA in each building each night, with the exception
of winter and spring breaks, 7:00 pm, to the next morning at
7:00 am. To reach the duty RA, you
should
call the front desk/reception phone number.
Emergency Contacts
In an emergency, call University of Maine Public Safety at (207
581-4040). Routine situations should wait until the next duty
shift or business hours so that a member of the Residence Life
Staff can best help you.
