4th International Research Meeting in Asian and Comparative Philosophy

Time and History: East and West

With support from the University of Missouri-Columbia

Sept. 28- Oct. 1, 2000
Holiday Inn Select Executive Center
2200 I-70 Drive SW * Columbia, Missouri, USA * (573) 445-8531

Thurs. 9/28 * Fri. 9/29 * Sat. 9/30 * Sun. 10/1

The Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy is the oldest and foremost professional association devoted to the promotion of Asian and comparative philosophy. The Society provides the same sort of professional outlet for philosophers doing work in Eastern philosophy as the American Philosophical Association provides their counterparts working in the Western tradition.

With global convergence comes the growth of multiculturalism and intercultural philosophy, and with these, a younger generation of scholars in America has begun, increasingly, to turn away from Euro-centric thinking. The SACP is one of the few professional organizations in the world that provides these scholars with an opportunity for presenting and refining their research in a community of like-minded individuals. This community spans the globe as well as a variety of intellectual disciplines and traditions.
