Tractor Club

The Tractor Club is a student organization that is open to anyone who is interested in learning about the maintenance and repair of farm machinery. The Club was started by a group of students who were seeking a more hands on experience working with farm equipment.

The students sought and obtained a donation of a David Brown tractor from Dorr’s Equipment in Bangor. This tractor formed the focus of the groups efforts, starting with the initial diagnosis of what needed to be repaired to fixing and obtaining all of the necessary parts to allow for it’s complete restoration. By going through the process of restoring this old tractor the students are gaining a better understanding of the major components of tractors.

The Club is still in the process of restoring this tractor. Upon completion the tractor will be auctioned off and another suitable tractor will be acquired to start the process over again. The club meets every other Tuesday during the school year at the Rogers Farm and is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about farm equipment and repair.

For more information about the club contact Joe Cannon at the Rogers Farm, 827-4695.

The David Brown Tractor was donated by Dorr's Equipment located in Bangor Maine.
