Penobscot Science Exchange

 

 


The purpose of the Penobscot Science Exchange (PSE) is to share information regarding research and monitoring in the Penobscot River Watershed. The group meets twice a year; once in the spring to discuss upcoming research and again in the fall to discuss the previous field season.

Penobscot River Restoration Trust: This is a clearinghouse of information on the Penobscot River Restoration Project.

 

Penobscot Science Synthesis: This resource includes a literature and data inventory of past and current research on the Penobscot River through 2008.

 

Penobscot Monitoring Framework: This framework is intended to aid coordination and collaboration among the various disciplines and serve as a resource for those interested in tracking restoration.

 

Gulf of Maine Stream Barrier Removal Monitoring Guide
This guide presents a standardized framework for monitoring the ecological changes that occur when dams, culverts, and other stream barriers are removed. Developed collaboratively by more than 70 people from government agencies and non-governmental organizations, the framework is based on 8 critical monitoring parameters.

 

Penobscot Science Steering Committee Documents: This committee was formed to oversee research and monitoring related to the restoration project from 2005-2008.
