How Hard Is It To Get A Job?
Recent engineering graduates have received
up to five unsolicited job offers. One engineer who sent out 50 resumes received
30 employment offers. Employment is a function of the economy and location.
It is easier to get a job in New York State than Hawaii. Certain regions such
as the South and Southwest offer more employment opportunities than the Northeast.
Nevertheless there are lots of jobs in the Northeast. Over 75% of the engineering
technology graduates were employed in the State of Maine. Many students from
"away" elect to stay in Maine with Maine engineering companies after
their graduation to enjoy the scenic beauty, friendly people, and numerous
recreational opportunities.
