Mechanical Engineering Technology Faculty
MET faculty members work closely with students.
Students attend several courses with each faculty member, often
with a laboratory or project involved, so the faculty members
and students get to know each other well. Students are always
welcome to visit faculty members during their office hours or
by appointment for assitance with course material or career guidance.
Each student is assigned a faculty advisor, and must meet with
the advisor each semester in order to sign up for classes. Faculty
members take personal interest in the MET students. Faculty advisors
also help direct students to special services available on campus
such as the Cutler Health Center for physical or mental health
services or the Onward Program for disability services. Faculty
members frequently provide references for scholarships, internships
and career positions.
All faculty members in MET have had significant professional
experience in industrial settings. Faculty members in the ranks
of Associate Professor and Professor must be licensed to practice
engineering (thus the P.E. after their names, for Professional
Engineer). Professional Engineers have completed lengthy internships
as engineers and have completed a series of examinations leading
to licensure.
