The Maine Steiners is a small modern a cappella group made up of men from the University Singers. Started in 1958 as an extension of the Glee Club, they're more active than ever doing around 100 shows every year including those in cooperation with Singers. In 2007 they released their newest studio album, You Play the Guiro! and they are working towards a 50th Anniversary celebration this spring. www.mainesteiners.com

Renaissance is a small female a cappella group made up of women from the University Singers. Founded in 1999, 'Sance has grown fast competing in last year's ICCA's and taking first place in the Quarter-Finals. In 2007 they released their newest album Illuminate and went on their first tour. www.umaine.edu/renaissance

The University of Maine at Orono is the home of the University Singers and the flagship campus of the UMaine system. Don't let it fool you, even though the average class size is only 18 UMaine has students from 75 countries and 48 states. With a wide variaty of offered majors and minors as well as hundreds of student organizations (such as Steiners and Renaissance!) UMaine Orono has something for everybody. www.umaine.edu
