- Economics Lab and Advising Center
About the School of Economics Laboratory & Advising Center
The School of Economics is proud to unveil for Fall 2007
our new Laboratory & Advising Center that will serve as
a tremendous resource for all students interested in economics!
Our Objectives
(1) Provide students with the resources they need to enjoy and succeed in economics courses;
(2) Provide students with information on the Economics major and minor here at the University of Maine, and potential opportunities in Economics in the future; and
(3) Supply a facility for students to enjoy the benefits of group learning.
Location & Hours
The School of Economics Laboratory & Advising Center is located in Stevens Hall room 305. Click here for a map of campus to locate Stevens Hall. It is located right on ‘The Mall’.
The lab is open Monday - Thursday during the semester from 11 AM to 4 PM. Click here for a handout that includes this semester’s lab calendar. The calendar includes information about when faculty and teaching assistants from specific courses will be in the lab.
A Lab Designed With Student Interests in Mind
The Laboratory component of the Center will provide a place for learning and camaraderie for introductory economic course students. Students are encouraged to visit the lab and take advantage of the many resources available. Faculty members and teaching assistants will be available at the lab four days a week to answer student questions (see lab calendar for hours), assist them in using course-based technology, and facilitate group study sessions. The lab will also provide an opportunity for students to meet others in their courses and offer space for group study sessions. With a conference table for group meetings, study carols, couches, chairs, and desks all perfect for individual or group study, along with a bank of six computers – the Economic Laboratory and Advising Center is ready to help economics students meet with success!
