What is Economics? Economists study choices and therefore help explain how individuals, businesses, governments, and other entities make decisions. More broadly, economists study the performance of markets in allocating resources and the interactions among public policies and markets.
Why major in Economics? Economics teaches valuable analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills will make you an attractive candidate for graduate study and for employment in a variety of fields as well as prepare you for a professional degree such as law or business school.
Our Strengths. The undegraduate programs offered by the School of Economics provide a unique combination of academic strength and flexibility to accommodate a wide variety of professional interests. The School prides itself on the close working relationship it fosters between students and faculty. Class sizes are small; advanced courses typically have fewer than fifteen students. Our undergraduate degrees are designed to broaden the intellectual horizons of students and enhance their opportunities for choice and advancement in a variety of professional careers.
