Diane Roscetti

Diane Roscetti is the Director of the School of Performing Arts, Divisions of Music and Theatre/Dance. She is in her ninth year as an administrator and has been on the faculty for 23 years. A Colorado native, she did her undergraduate work at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and her graduate work at New England Conservatory and Northern Illinois University, all in cello performance. She has been on the summer faculty of the Algonquin International Music Institute in Canada, an Artist-in-Residence at the Silver Bay Summer Music Festival in Lake George, NY, and performed on national public radio and Maine Public Television. She also appears frequently as a guest artist with the Arcady Summer Music Festival.

Professor Roscetti hosted the annual meeting of National Association of Music Executives of State Universities in Maine during the fall of 2002. She also actively participates in National Association of Schools of Music, where she has helped to present sessions on such topics as Developing Alumni and Community Groups, and Women Executives' issues. She participates in the International Council of Fine Arts Deans as well, and in 1996 she was nominated by the president of the University of Maine to represent the institution at a state-wide management institute for women.

Professor Roscetti started a graduate string quartet/outreach program at UM that has garnered national attention, with the most recent group being invited to perform for the Coleman Competition in Pasadena, California and the panel of Chamber Music Society Two of Lincoln Center.
