 First-Year Student Scholarship Programs

The University of Maine offers academic scholarships to highly qualified first-year candidates. Awards are competitive and first priority consideration is given to students applying for admission through the Early Action Admission Process (applications completed by December 15, 2006).  Students applying through the regular, rolling admission process will be considered on a funds available basis.  All students who apply for admission are automatically considered for academic scholarships, a separate academic scholarship application is not required.

Several Colleges and academic departments also offer academic scholarships to incoming students.  Most do not require a separate scholarship application, however, please note that Performing Arts and Art scholarships do have an application process and require an audition or portfolio review.  Please contact the music, theater and/or art departments for more information.

All students who apply for financial aid are automatically considered for need-based scholarships awarded by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
