 Scholarships for Graduates of a Particular High School

 

(Maine high schools unless otherwise stated)

Certification Requirements

Complete the University of Maine Selective Scholarship application.


* Denotes that filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for determining eligibility for a particular scholarship
 

Indicates incoming students will have first preference in consultation with high school

Print a University of Maine Scholarship Application

 

The Percy P. Archibald and Marion T. Archibald Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Penquis Valley High School.

 

The I. Stanley Bailey Scholarship Fund

Awarded to students in the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture who are graduates of Lincoln County or Knox County High Schools with first preference to graduates of Medomak Valley High School.

 

The Bartley Family Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Stearns High School majoring in Forestry or English.

 

The Edgar W. Brigham Scholarship Fund

Awarded to students who graduated from Mt. Desert High School with preference to students from Southwest Harbor, ME.

 

The Francis A. and Elizabeth C. Brown Scholarship Fund

Awarded to Washington County High School graduates with preference to graduates of Calais or Woodland High School.

 

The William and Jennie Buchanan Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to Nursing majors with financial need who are graduates of one of the following high schools:

1. Penquis Valley High School;

2. Old Town High School;

3. Stearns High School.

 

      The Buxton-Hollis Community Hospital, Inc. Fund

Awarded to Nursing majors or students in pre-medical training who are:

1. graduates of Bonny-Eagle High School or;

2. residents of Buxton or Hollis, ME.

 

      The Canteen Service Co./Lloyd E. Willey Scholarship Fund

Awarded to students who are graduates of Narraguagus High School.

 

The Ava H. Chadbourne Fund *

Awarded to a female first year student who is a native-born and life-long resident of Maine with preference in the following order:

1. member of the Chadbourne family (does not need to meet the residency requirement);

2. graduate of Mattawamkeag High School;

3. graduate of Lee Academy;

4. student who lives near Mattawamkeag, ME.

 

      The Harry and Ida Cohen Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Skowhegan High School.

 

The Donald P. Corbett '34 Memorial Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to needy students in good academic standing who graduated from Northwest Catholic High School, West Hartford, CT.

 

The Nat and Eleanor Diamond Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Bangor High School.

 

The Jerome A. and Hazel B. Emerson Agricultural Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Nokomis Regional High School, with financial need, who are in the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture.  This scholarship will not be available for 2004-2005.

 

The Marguerite and Harry B. Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund

Awarded to a meritorious student from Gorham High School. First preference to a Maine Scholars Academic Achievement Award recipient.

 

The Deacon Ephraim Flint Scholarship Fund

Awarded with first preference to a descendant of Deacon Ephraim Flint of Baldwin, ME.

 

The Suzanne Wilke Garnache Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates from the public high school in Belfast, ME who have exceptional academic merit. Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to remain eligible.

 

The Dr. Noel D. Godfrey Scholarship Fund

Awarded to male graduates from the following high schools, in order of preference:

1. Lubec High School;

2. Calais High School;

3. Eastport High School;

4. Machias High School.

 

      The Noel Davis Godfrey Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to students showing academic capacity, financial need, leadership potential and possibility of future success, who graduated from the following high schools, in order of preference:

1. Lubec High School;

2. Calais High School;

3. Eastport High School;

4. Machias High School.

 

The H. Wilson Greene Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of a Millinocket High School with first preference to relatives of members of the Millinocket Chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

The Gushee Scholarship

Awarded to an outstanding graduate of Camden-Rockport High School for his or her first year. First preference to an Appleton, ME resident. Submit certification of town residency.

 

The Jerome P. & Pauline D. Hallee Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, ME.    The students must be enrolled in the University of Maine's College of Business.  Preference shall be given to residents of Pittsfield, Hartland, Palmyra, Detroit, and Burnham, ME.

 

The Hancock County Alumni Association Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to students who are graduates from a Hancock County, ME high school who have either demonstrated financial need or a high academic standing.

 

The Holden Brado Scholarship Fund 

Awarded to students who are graduates of Jackman High School majoring in Engineering or Forestry.

 

The Mary and Neil LaRochelle Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Morse High School.

 

The Harold S. Leach Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to financially needy students who are graduates of any Knox County, ME high school.

 

The Limestone Future Farmers of America Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Limestone High School who are Future Farmers of America members.

 

The Guida W. and Ralph A. Martin '52 Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of the Hinckley School, in Hinckley, ME who are Maine residents.

 

The Mathieu-Story Scholarship Fund

Awarded in the following order to:

1. direct descendants of Mary & Wilfred Mathieu or Annie & Anson Story.

2. graduates of Winslow High School majoring in History or Elementary Education.

3. graduates of Winslow High School who demonstrate financial need and high academic standing.

 

The Karl H. Merrill Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Gray-New Gloucester High School who are majoring in agriculture or forestry. First preference to a financially needy student who has successfully completed one semester. Second preference to a financially needy incoming student.

 

The Mr. and Mrs. Sylvio Normandeau Scholarship Fund

Awarded to students with financial need and academic merit after successful completion of one semester at The University of Maine.   Awarded in the following order of preference:

1. descendants of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Normandeau;

2. Winslow High School graduates.

 

The William N. Patten Scholarship Fund

Awarded to a resident of Cherryfield, ME who graduated with satisfactory rank from Narraguagus High School and is recommended by the high school principal and The University of Maine.

 

The James E. Poulin, M.D. Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Waterville High School based on academic merit and financial need.

 

The Lawrence and Lillian Rosen Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Bucksport High School with financial need who demonstrate ability and potential and whose objectives give particular consideration for a career in business or mercantile activities.

 

The Garret Schenck Scholarship Fund

Awarded to graduates of Schenck High School or Stearns High School.

 

The John C. Sealey, Jr. '36 Scholarship *

Awarded to an outstanding, needy student from SAD #54, Skowhegan Area High School.

 

The Helen M. and Peter J. Skoufis Scholarship Fund *

Awarded with first preference to graduates of Bangor High School and John Bapst High School who have demonstrated financial need and high academic standing.

 

The Atwood and June Smart Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Houlton High School.

 

The Joan Vachon Victor '52 and Milton Victor '51 Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to graduates of Thornton Academy in Saco, ME who demonstrate financial need.  A preference shall be given to the grandchildren of Joan Vachon Victor '52 and Milton Victor '51.

 

The Waldo County Scholarship Fund *

Awarded to needy undergraduate students in the following order of preference:

1.  graduates of Mt. View High School

2.  graduates of Waldo County High School.

 

The Ira Herbert and Georgia Rich Waterman Scholarship Fund

Awarded to descendants of Pemetic High School (Southwest Harbor, ME) Alumni.
