A Master Promissory Note (MPN) is required for all first-time loan borrowers. There are some special circumstances when a lender will request a new MPN be signed, but generally, MPNs are valid for 10 years.

Perkins Loan MPNs must be completed every year. You may complete the MPN after you accept your loan on MaineStreet.
Alternative and Direct PLUS Loan MPNs
Alternative Loan MPNs are provided by your lender. Direct PLUS Loan MPNs are available at www.studentloans.gov.
